The gynaecologist:
If you think you are pregnant, consult a gynaecologist. She/He will examine you and She/He will find out the date of birth. She/He will deliver the maternal health passport and will accompany and support you in the course of about 10 medical check-ups until birth.

Midwife:
She accompanies and consults before, during and after birth. She visits the pregnant woman or the mother and her child at home and takes care of their health and development. As soon as you know that you are pregnant, please look for a midwife immediately.

Please register for birth in hospital about 8 weeks before your date of birth. When making an appointment you should ask if the hospital can provide a translator or if you have to bring a translator yourself. When birth starts and labour contractions are regular, call the rescue service: 112
